In the first few minutes it was Cheltenham who came closest, and they even hit the bar early on, but luckly they failed to find the back of the net.

On 20 minutes Swindon took the lead after a mix up by the Cheltenham defence lead to Simon Cox scoring from close range against the run of play.

On 41 minutes Swindon made it 2-0 with a headed goal from Billy Payner.

Cheltenham rarely threatened in the second half, although did have 2 goals disallowed, but the whistle had blown a couple of seconds earlier in both cases anyway.

Christian Roberts came on off the the bench for Swindon and made it 3-0 shortly afterwards on 80 minutes from a tight angle.

Overall a good win for Swindon against their new local rivals. The win moves Swindon closer to the play off's ahead of Saturday's away trip to Nottingham Forest.
