Swindon 1 Colchester 3

Swindon started well, but fell behind after 32 minutes after a goal from close range from Johnnie Jackson gave the away side a 1-0 lead.

Then just before half time Colchester doubled their lead with a goal from Scott Vernon.

After a goal mouth scramble after 56 minutes Swindon had the ball in the back of the net, but for the second time that afternoon it was disallowed, even though it looked like the referee had awarded the goal in fact he'd given a free kick to Colchester.

On 66 minutes Swindon were awarded a penalty after a hand ball in the box. Simon Cox took the kick to score his third goal of the season to make the score 1-2.

Swindon then pushed forward looking for an equaliser, and came very close when they hit the bar.

However Swindon's hard work failed to pay off as after 89 minutes Colchester made it 3-1 after a mix up in the Swindon defence.

Overall Swindon were unlucky to lose this game. A draw would have been a fair result. Swindon's next game is away to Milton Keynes in their new stadium next Saturday.
