After a cross from David Duke Swindon took the lead after only 7 minutes when Sam Parkin headed the ball into the net to score the only goal of the game.

Brain Howard also came close for Swindon with his long distance shot being forced away for for a corner.

Swindon had a lot of corner's in the first half, but none ever looked as if they would end in goals, one went out of play without touching any of the players.

Colchester did come close to scoring a number of times in the first half, with the ball be played around in the Swindon box, but Colchester never managed to get any good on target shots, and the ball was always cleared away to safety.

Colchester came out in the second half looking a better side, but it was Swindon who came close to scoring again hitting the bar from close range.

Overall a good win at Colchester again - We always seem to win 1-0 at Layer Road, the same had plenty of attacking moves, but neither side had any good goal scoring chances.

Swindon's next game is this Saturday at home to Blackpool on Saturday.
